Head Chef
We are seeking an ambitious, creative, and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in the heart of Cardiff. If you have a passion for delivering outstanding food, inspiring culinary teams, and shaping the direction of a busy hospitality venue, we want to hear from you!
Main Responsibilities – Head Chef Leadership and Kitchen Management
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
- Develop exciting, seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, balancing creativity with cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, train, and motivate the entire kitchen brigade, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, budgets, and food cost control, with a focus on minimising waste.
- Champion food safety, allergen management, and health & safety compliance at all times.
- Collaborate closely with Front of House and management teams for smooth service and memorable guest experiences.
Who We’re Looking For – Head Chef Experience and Skills
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or similar leadership position in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Inspirational leadership skills with the ability to support, coach, and develop chefs of all levels.
- Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills, with a meticulous approach to kitchen operations.
- Creativity and flair for menu design, with a genuine passion for delivering excellent food and guest satisfaction.
- Thorough understanding of food safety, health & safety, and allergen procedures.
- Flexibility to work rotas including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
