Sous Chef Jobs Cardiff – Brewhouse Kitchen Opportunities
As Sous Chef at BREWHOUSE, you’ll be second-in-command in a lively, popular city-centre kitchen. Whether you’re a current sous chef or a senior line chef seeking your next challenge, this is your chance to shine. Main Responsibilities – Lead, Support & Drive Kitchen Excellence
- Work closely with the Head Chef, supporting all aspects of kitchen management and food delivery in our brewhouse setting.
- Oversee service – ensuring every plate meets our high standards, especially during busy shifts and special events.
- Help train, mentor, and motivate a diverse kitchen team – nurturing talent in a positive, energetic environment.
- Champion food hygiene and health & safety, inspiring best practices at all times.
- Manage kitchen organisation: ordering, stock control, prep lists, and handovers.
- Step up as team leader in the Head Chef’s absence—keeping standards high and service seamless.
Key Skills & Experience – What Makes a Great Sous Chef (Brewhouse)
- Proven kitchen experience (sous chef, senior line chef, or similar) in a high-volume pub or restaurant environment.
- Proud of your food and your people—great coaching skills and a passion for developing others.
- Organised, calm, and positive under pressure—our weekends and events are legendary!
- Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen awareness, and kitchen regulations
- Creative flair for and a willingness to contribute new ideas to our brewhouse menu.
- Flexible with shifts—availability during evenings, weekends, match days, and major Cardiff city events is essential.
- Clear communicator with a hands-on approach and a strong team ethic.
