General Manager – The Discovery, Cyncoed

The Discovery is a well-established, community-led pub in the heart of Cyncoed and a proud part of the Croeso Pubs group. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality food, live sport, and regular live music, The Discovery plays a central role in the local community.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the business, build on its strong reputation, and drive it to the next level.

The Role
You will take full ownership of The Discovery, leading from the front to deliver a high-quality, community-focused pub experience. With a strong emphasis on food, drinks, sport, and entertainment, you’ll be responsible for driving commercial performance while ensuring consistently excellent service.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a busy environment, takes pride in standards, and is passionate about building both a strong team and a loyal customer base.

What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior leadership role within a quality hospitality environment

Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, financial controls, and full P&L responsibility

A background in food-led pubs, high-volume venues, or community-focused hospitality businesses

A natural leader with the ability to recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team

A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and engaging with the local community

Experience managing live sport and entertainment-led venues is advantageous

Resilient, organised, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

A solid understanding of licensing laws, health & safety, and compliance standards

Personal Licence holder (essential)

Able to provide strong professional references
