Located in the heart of Cardiff on St Mary Street, The Philharmonic is one of the city’s most iconic late-night venues. We operate across multiple floors with five busy bars, delivering everything from daytime drinks and live sport to high-energy nightlife, DJs, and large-scale events.

The Role

We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Bar Back / Cellar Staff member to join our team. This is a physically demanding role that plays a crucial part in keeping our venue fully stocked, organised, and running efficiently across all five bars.

You’ll be working behind the scenes to support bar staff, manage stock, and ensure the cellar and storage areas are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and organising deliveries

• Heavy lifting and moving kegs, boxes, and stock throughout the venue

• Keeping all five bars fully stocked during service

• Maintaining cellar organisation and cleanliness

• Changing kegs and managing draught systems

• Monitoring stock levels and communicating with management

• Supporting bar teams during busy periods

• Ensuring all storage areas meet health & safety standards

• General day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of stock areas

What We’re Looking For

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Team player with a positive attitude

• Flexible availability (evenings and weekends required)

• Previous bar back or cellar experience is a bonus, but not essential
