Bar Back

The Dock is a Cardiff icon with an atmosphere as diverse as the crowds we
serve. The Dock is a go-to destination for families, tourists, live music lovers, foodies, sports enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to have a great time.

We are looking for a glass collector and bar back to support our amazing team of bartenders. You'll help with opening and closing procedures and perform various behind-the-bar tasks, helping to keep service running smoothly. You'd be required to ensure the floor is clean and tidy, along with supporting the team when needed.

What's the Role?

Pretty much what you’d expect from a buzzing venue like ours:

  • Assisting bartenders during rush hours 

  • Refilling all bars with ice 

  • Changing out beer kegs and replacing spirit bottles 

  • Remove rubbish around the venue and wipe down drink spillages/sweep up broken glass 

  • Restock the bar with straws, coasters and napkins 

  • Work the glass wash and deep cleaning at the end of shift

  • Tidy up front of house and back of house areas during and after shift

  • Collect all bins from the bars when full

  • Help clear plates from tables

  • Assist our food runners when needed to deliver food and offer condiments

  • Help take drink orders to tables when needed

This is a part-time weekend job. With opportunities to work mid-week for major events and bookings— this is when the magic happens!

Requirements 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Basic knowledge of bar menu items and recipes, along with products 

  • Physical ability to lift beer kegs, glass bins, glassware and stand during shift
